ABOUT COACH JOE

Joe Bolster ran Cross Country and Track for Princeton High School in Princeton, NJ and Denison University in Granville, OH. During his career at Denison, a member of the Ohio Athletic Conference, he competed in the NCAA Small College National Cross Country Championships and achieved All-OAC status four times in Indoor Track (4×400 relay, 800 meters, twice in the 1000 meters) and once in Outdoor Track (800 meters). In his sophomore season he contributed a 49.8 leg to the Denison 4×400 relay team that won the Gold Medal in the Ohio Collegiate Championships. At the OAC Outdoor Championships in his senior year he won the Bronze Medal in the 800, running 1:53.2, a time that qualified him for the NCAA Division Three National Track and Field Championships.

Coach Joe has been certified as a Level One Coach by USA Track and Field, the governing body of the sport. He is a volunteer coach for Boys/Girls Spring Track and Girls Cross Country at Eleanor Roosevelt High School in New York City. ERHS does not offer Winter Track so the MNTC was created to fill that void. It is a pleasure for Joe to coach a team that honors the memory of his great friend Merrell Noden.
