SEASON ONE: 2018-2019
DECEMBER 13, 2018 – MNTC conducts its first ever practice.
JANUARY 6, 2019 – MNTC participates in its first competition, an AAU meet at The Armory in New York City.
MARCH 15, 2019 – At the Front Runners Meet in The Armory, MNTC athletes set 27 Personal Records and harvest 15 medals – 7 Gold, 2 Silver, and 6 Bronze. Our Girls 4×400 relay squad wins Gold and pulls an elite team of Masters Women to a World Record for the 50-54 age group.
JUNE 15/16, 2019 – Twenty-two MNTC athletes participate in the Junior Olympics at New York’s Icahn Stadium and eight qualify to move on to the Regional Championships.
SEASON TWO: 2019-2020
The global Covid pandemic truncates Season Two but, before shutting down, MNTC athletes set thirteen new Club Records. Sadly, the outdoor season is canceled and the team is denied the opportunity to compete in the Junior Olympics.
SEASON THREE: 2020-2021
Despite the pandemic, the MNTC soldiered on, filling the void created when New York’s Public School Athletic League canceled all Fall and Winter sports. MNTC began practicing in Central Park on September 2, 2020 and continued meeting six to seven days a week throughout the Covid crisis. In lieu of meets, the team ran Time Trial Relays of various distances on the Reservoir in Central Park.
