WHO ARE WE? MNTC!!

The Merrell Noden Track Club was founded in December 2018 to serve New York City runners whose high schools do not offer Winter Track. Now entering its third season, the club offers year-round training and competition opportunities for young runners. Coached by Merrell’s lifelong friend, Joe Bolster, the club has grown from 25 members in its first year to 64 last year. Through the club, athletes learn about the sport of Track and Field, train for specific events, and compete in high level competitions in the New York City metro area. Our athletes have shined at these events. In fact, at the 2019 Junior Olympic Competition at New York’s Icahn Stadium, 22 MNTC athletes took part and 8 qualified to move onto the Regional Championships.

The club continues to thrive, despite the enormous challenges of a global pandemic that has curtailed or eliminated many amateur sporting events. MNTC has carried on, conducting Covid-safe practices outdoors in Central Park. This winter, if allowed by state regulations, indoor meets may be held at New York’s Armory, and Staten Island’s Ocean Breeze Athletics Center, and our club members will be ready to toe the starting line.

The club is a 501c3 non-profit that exists thanks to the many generous donations of Merrell’s friends, family members, and the families of MNTC athletes. If you would like to help support our young runners, we would be so grateful to you! Please send your tax deductible donation to https://www.gofundme.com/f/j25sb-merrell-noden-track-club or
